Food, to me, hits all five senses. You see how it is aranged on the plate, does it entice you, make you want to eat it? The aroma drifts up off the plate to your nose before you start to eat it, making you salivate and want it. Then the knife cuts into it and you hear the crispness or the fork breaks it up with no sound from it's softness. Taste on your tongue, does the reality of it match the anticipation?. The crunch as you bite into it, feeling the texture, enjoying the culmination of the cook's effort. As I said, five senses, but how many of those can be brought to bear in a photograph? Many more than one I hope but you tell me.
